Jenna Mackenzie West
My goals include playing women’s soccer at the most competitive levels, including Division 1 soccer and higher, and studying film/television/video production, information technology and/or business in a highly ranked academic and D1 soccer college.
I have attended U.S. Soccer (February 2017), ECNL (July 2018) and Olympic Development Program (January 2018) national camps and enjoy meeting new friends across the country and playing against top competitors. I am also honored to be included on the Top Drawer Soccer, Top 150 list for the class of 2021.
I maintain a GPA of 4.0 at Clayton Valley Charter High School while playing ECNL soccer for Mustang Soccer Club where I am a Team Captain. At Mustang, I play center back. I was awarded the 2017-18 ECNL U-15 All Northwest Conference Team and was named a "Player to Watch" for the past two seasons. I have also played Varsity soccer at Clayton Valley since my freshman year. Last year, I started as a freshman, played center back, and my team led the North Coast Section in the least goals against, including fewer than #1 ranked Monte Vista. I play multiple positions in high school but enjoyed right forward and attacking this year. At the end of the 2018-19 season, I was awarded the Team MVP and 1st Team All League Awards for Diablo Athletic League and an All-North Coast Section Honorable Mention.
I believe I would be a great addition to a college soccer program because I am positive, kind, friendly and supportive of my teammates. I also have a strong work ethic and work rate and am tenacious on the field. My strengths include my speed (95% in the 40M), composure, 1v1 defending and tackling, ability to read the field and adjust to my opponent's style and strengths. I can play many positions and have played all but goalkeeper, but I enjoy center back and right back most.
In my free time, I enjoy photography and making short films and videos. I also love the beach, hiking around Mt. Diablo and running when I can (participated in Oakland Diocese Track & Field events from 2011-16, earned numerous Championship medals and set or broke records, including the Section 3, 100M record with a time of 12.81).
